It is a very rare occurrence when you experience the bond with a guitar that gets you up in the morning and that restores the passion and love for pure physical tactile practice and the joy of playing, as well as the sonic bliss that comes with it. It is a bliss that we as musicians live for and the reason why we do what we do. Such has been my experience with the classical guitar Erez has built. I usually like to custom order my guitars, but in this case all my needs and dreams were met even before I knew some of them existed. Thank you Erez for creating such an inspiring masterpiece of an instrument.

Erez Perelman came by the San Francisco Conservatory of Music to show me a guitar… It had a sound and a musicality that I instantly connected with.I am rarely spontaneous about buying instruments, but there was so much music in this one that I knew the guitar needed to stay.

Now it is a cherished part of the San Francisco Conservatory guitar collection.

I am so happy that I am now the owner of a wonderful Erez Perelman’s guitar.  It is an instrument that was built for my individual needs, especially for my left hand.  My fingers of the left hand move with ease now with the corresponding size of the neck. It fits not only physically but sonically. It has a wide range of colors, differential sound; very warm, deep and clean. The guitar is balanced between the delicate and powerful sound. What is the most important, is that each note is selectively brilliant!
I can’t find words to describe how wonderful and comfortable is playing on this. It is pure pleasure!

The guitar that Erez built me is one of a kind…it sings sweet and lives as art. It’s powerful volume and sustain allows me to fully communicate my message to an audience with ease. There’s no longer a need for me to sacrifice quality of sound for volume! A limitless variety of tones and colors can be found while playing; but for the most part, the guitar has a warm, and charming sound. There’s never a dull moment when I have this guitar in my hands. The joy and love that Erez puts into his guitars can be physically felt and sonically heard. I can tell that he pays an incredible amount of attention to detail and loves his craft.

How marvelous it is to play this guitar in ALL circumstances, it begs to be played as if it is your last night on earth. What I’ve always felt comes true with this instrument. The simple can be as heart-rending as something complicated. Nobody around here has ever heard anything like it. It is something magnificent.

I did not really understand what “Playability” means until I got my Erez Perelman Guitar.

I bought my Perelman two years ago to serve me in the course of my music studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music. Since then, my cedar top guitar has got almost fully “open” and I enjoy the rich sound and resonance of it. As a student, I know how lucky I am to use such a fine instrument that is helping me to develop the sensitivity of my listening, as well as contributing to create my own unique sound. A privilege many of my peers don’t share.
Through the process of purchasing (yes, a process), I visited Erez several times. During those visits, I learned a lot about the craft of guitar making. Erez was patient throughout, and helped me to find the right instrument for me.

I am the proud owner of a Perelman Flamenca blanca. The journey from the initial discussions and concepts regarding the construction of this guitar was a very engaging and delightful process. Erez is a very meticulous , thorough and accomodating luthier who is influenced by the old Masters but whose passion for working with wood comes from his forebears. Aesthetically Erez’s guitars have an elegant refined beauty about them. And now to the sound…………. My guitar is beautifully balanced and responsive and has that characteristic and defining quality that is a hallmark of all great Flamenca blancas; lyrical and musical but with a raspy and aggressive response when provoked, and chords remain articulate. Truly a “canon with six strings attached”. I believe Erez’s guitars are in a class of instruments usually associated with names like Eugene Clark and Manuel Velazquez. To quote the great Andres Segovia who once said of a young John Williams “ the finger of greatness has been pointed at you”. This accolade can most certainly be bestowed upon the young master, Erez Perelman.

I am happy to own two Perelman instruments, each giving me lots of satisfaction. The classical is rich, full bodied and has a beautiful sonority and projection. The flamenco blanca is very responsive and lively, and the notes effortlessly jump out of it. Both instruments are comfortable to play and beautifully constructed. Therefore, the instruments don’t have to be ashamed sitting (and being played) side by side with my Hauser I – three very different guitars all with gorgeous voices.

Man! Got the guitar (flamenco negra) – It is wonderful! I really love it, couldn’t stop playing since I got it – you are right it has a great presence, the high notes sparkle and the bass is especially full and great. I was wondering if it will sound as flamencoish as a blanca, but boy it just sounds fantastic whether it’s a buleria or anything else. Couldn’t ask for more!

I am happy to say that the guitar that Erez Perelman built for me is a magical instrument in every regard and a pleasure to play. I was so taken by its sonority and power that I have already used it on my recent concert tour with the Symphony of Spain this last December. It is my emotional and artistic opinion that Erez Perelman ranks amongst the top of the finest luthiers today.

The first thing I noticed is how lightweight the instrument is. Next, although the neck provides generous width, my smaller hands immediately and easily navigate the fret board—probably because of the well-thought shape of the back of the neck and the comfortably low action.

I play many guitars, but there’s something about my Erez Perelman that almost seems to “play with me, as opposed to just be played.” This guitar is so alive. It’s responsiveness and articulation “breathes” my musical expression. The well-balanced tone is deep and complex, yet refined and airy. This is by far one of my favorite guitars. It’s simply fun to play, and it provides superior sound in and out of the studio.

I have played many flamenco guitars from famous Luthiers in Spain and elsewhere, but there was one important thing missing.  Luthier Erez Perelman is not “just building” guitars, in each instrument he tries to involve the personality of each player.  Music is a part of my own personality, which I need to survive and grow in my life.  I feel and know that Erez builds his instruments with the same passion and in a very high quality standard.  It’s about 2 years ago when I got in touch with Erez and I visited his workshop in Israel where I finally decided to let him build my first “Blanca”.  It’s an awesome, light, balanced, responsive and full tone instrument, which I play with great pleasure all day.   Winter 2012 I just ordered another “Negra” which he currently is building for me.
